There’s a song that has a part that goes, “I’ve been everywhere, man.” That’s not what inspired today’s prompt, but it’s can be seen as a part of it.
We all know someone who’s gone through a ton of stuff in their life. They seem to have been everywhere and seen everything. They’ve got a story for every situation.
Sometimes those people are older than dirt, other times they’re youngins who had the ability to see a lot and experience a lot (which isn’t always good stuff).
My dad works with a guy who’s been on a plane that fell apart midair, has narrowly escaped death on oil rigs, pipelines, skyscrapers, and tons of other things. It seems like there’s a story for everything and, surprisingly, all these stories are actually true. This guy’s been everywhere. He seems to have seen everything.
Which, to my author brain, makes me a little happy because it shows that all the stuff we put our characters through isn’t actually impossible. One person can actually go through all that stuff.
Your prompt for this week is to tell the tale of someone who meets the main character of one of your books and that person has been everywhere. They’ve got stories out of the wazzoo.
You can have it so all these stories inspire your main character and give them heart to continue, or whatever else you feel like.
I hope that inspires y’all! Write on and God bless.
As always, this prompt is free to use however you please.
