My family was watching a movie a few weeks ago and I got an idea.
So, first off, history lesson: a lot of nations have spent a lot of time trying to stay out of others’ business and others’ wars. The UK, Japan, China, the US. They’ve all had times where they decided to steer clear of the wars of neighbors, allies, and fights afar off.
Nowadays, a lot of nations get into seemingly every war. With the UN, lots of countries are pulled in that would have otherwise avoided the fight.
But, the broader population isn’t always keen to join wars that they have no stake in. They don’t want to send their sons to die for a land they don’t care about.
So, what if someone decided to act upon that sentiment?
What if, in order to save their nation from getting into endless wars, they started assassinating ambassadors, emissaries, and attaches from other nations?
What if this person, in the effort to save their nation, bombed a UN meeting, or a G-7/G-20 meeting, or what if they started attacking embassies?
If all the outsiders that brought this person’s nation into wars saw that it wasn’t safe to meet with them, then could the wars stop?
Your prompt is to tell the tale of this assassin. Tell us why he’s acting. Did they lose their kid in a war? What are they going to do to kill these representatives? What happens? Will a greater war ensue?
Thriller authors, this one is for you in a big, big way. Honestly, I might play with it in a later sci-fi book I write!
Hope this prompt inspires you! As always, it’s totally free to use!
