I was just starting a new book when an idea came to me: a series written from the POV of criminals. Every story could start with the line: “It was the perfect crime,”

I was personally thinking about how you could have these stories kick off when the criminal was in jail after being caught and they were giving a monologue about their crime. But, as I thought, I realized there were other points in time that someone could monologue like that too.

But, that’s just where my mind went, there are other ways you could take this. Maybe you follow a slew of different criminals as they pull off their “perfect crime”, maybe you’ve got a team of elite criminals who do these crimes regularly.

Long story short, it’s super open-ended.
