A Thousand Hills: Weekly Prompt 68

We’ve all heard of some amazing love stories of women who waited for ages for their men to return to them from war. Some of these stories are true, some have become the stuff of legend, and some of them are nothing more than fiction.
From real life, we hear the stories of ladies who were told that their husbands were killed in action, only for their husbands to return from war years later. (Talk about a paperwork mixup!) From legends, we have Odysseus from The Odyssey and his wife.
Stories, stories.
Your prompt for this week is to tell the same sort of story! Maybe it’s a man coming home to his wife, maybe a wife coming home to her man, whichever you prefer. Honestly, you could even go the route of Homeward Bound and make it a pet that’s been lost and is coming home to their master!
What kind of obstacles stand between them? Is it oceans? World? A thousand hills? A billion people? An apocalyptic wasteland? A plague?
Whatever you come up with, this prompt is free to use however you want!
Write on and God bless.
